Delhi Govt to Spend 200 Cr to Bury Dangling Wires in Lakshmi Nagar, Other Areas

Delhi government allocates 200 crore rupees to underground dangling electricity wires in areas like Lakshmi Nagar.

This initiative aims to eliminate the dangers posed by exposed wires, a first for these colonies.

The total electricity department budget for 2026-27 is 3,942 crore rupees, including 3,500 crore for subsidies.

The budget for undergrounding wires has doubled from 100 crore in 2025-26 to 200 crore in 2026-27.

Work has also begun to underground wires on 28 roads in Chandni Chowk, costing approximately 160 crore rupees.
