IN-SPACe Partners with Startups for India's First Private Satellite Constellation

• IN-SPACe signed an agreement with Allied Orbits, a consortium of four Indian space tech startups, to establish India's first privately-led national earth observation (EO) satellite constellation.
• The consortium, comprising Pixxel, Dhruva Space, PierSight, and SatSure Analytics, will design, build, own, and operate a constellation of 12 EO satellites under the Earth Observation Public-Private Partnership (EO-PPP) programme.
• This project signifies a shift towards private industry managing mission-scale assets, with an investment exceeding Rs 1,200 crore over five years.
• The constellation will provide high-resolution optical, multispectral, SAR, and hyperspectral imaging for applications like agriculture, disaster management, climate monitoring, and national security.
• The initiative aims to create a reliable national EO data backbone, reduce reliance on foreign data, and strengthen India's geospatial and space-based services ecosystem.
