Sita Ram Diwan Chand: Delhi's Chole-Bhature Icon's Journey, Original Outlet Temporarily Closed
•Sita Ram Diwan Chand, Delhi's famous Chole-Bhature brand, temporarily closed its original Paharganj outlet due to an LPG gas shortage.
•Owner Pran Kohli confirmed the closure but assured other outlets (Rajouri Garden, Greater Kailash, Laxmi Nagar) and franchises in Gurugram and Faridabad remain operational.
•The brand's journey began in 1955 when Sita Ram Kohli, a 15-year-old refugee from Lahore, started selling Chole-Bhature on a bicycle.
•Evolving from a bicycle cart to a permanent shop in the 1970s, the brand is now managed by its third and fourth generations, expanding across cities.
•Its unique taste comes from bhature made with paneer, ajwain, fenugreek, asafoetida, reheated on a griddle, and chole with 20+ homemade spices; praised by Sanjeev Kapoor and Salman Khan.
