Ahmedabad's 'Surgical Strike' on Filth: 9 Shops Sealed, ₹1.42 Lakh Fine Collected

• Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) launched a 'surgical strike' against traders spreading filth and using banned plastic.
• In the North-West Zone, 9 shops and restaurants were sealed for openly spreading filth, specifically on Gurukul Road, Surdhara Circle in Ghatlodia, and Vastrapur.
• Over two days, 100 raids were conducted, 145 notices issued, and a total fine of ₹1.42 lakh collected on the spot.
• 28 kilograms of banned plastic were seized during inspections, targeting everyone from hawkers to large showrooms.
• Special squads are now deployed morning and evening in areas like Ghatlodia, Chandlodia, Gota, Thaltej, Bodakdev, and Vastrapur to ensure continuous enforcement.
