Micron Plant in Gujarat Starts Production, PM May Launch 'Made in India' Chip
•Micron Technology's Sanand plant in Gujarat begins commercial production by end of February, marking India's first commercial-scale semiconductor output.
•The ₹22,516 crore ($2.75 billion) facility will focus on backend operations for DRAM and NAND memory products, aiming for 14 million units weekly at full capacity.
•The plant will also produce High Bandwidth Memory (HBM), crucial for AI infrastructure and computing.
•Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to launch the 'Made in India' chip in early March, strengthening India's semiconductor hub ambitions.
