Judge Swindled of Rs 6 Lakh by Women Posing as Bank Employees in Hamirpur

• A judge in Hamirpur was defrauded of Rs 6 lakh by two women posing as bank employees, promising high returns on mutual funds and money-back schemes.
• The fraud began in December 2025 when a woman contacted the judge, enticing him to invest Rs 11 lakh, initially asking for Rs 2,360 to activate his account.
• The judge was added to WhatsApp groups and made to download an app from the Apple App Store for registration, with promises of higher profits.
• When the judge attempted to withdraw his money, the women refused, leading him to file a complaint with the police.
• Hamirpur SP Balbir Singh confirmed a case registered under IPC Section 318 (4), warning against unverified online investments.
