Bengaluru Metro: Green Line Gets CRRC Trains, Purple Line to Receive Existing Rakes
- •Bengaluru Metro's Green Line (Madavara-Silk Institute) will receive the full fleet of 21 six-coach CRRC trains.
- •Existing Phase-1 trains from the Green Line will be transferred to the Purple Line (Whitefield-Challaghatta), Namma Metro's busiest corridor.
- •The prototype CRRC train is currently undergoing RDSO testing on the Green Line, targeting Railway Board sanction by March 2026.
- •The remaining 20 CRRC trains will be manufactured by Titagarh Rail Systems Limited (TRSL) at its Uttarpara facility.
- •All CRRC trains will operate on the Green Line for ease of maintenance, concentrating infrastructure at Peenya depot.
