BEML Unveils Bengaluru Metro Pink Line Prototype Train
- •BEML unveiled a prototype six-coach train for Bengaluru Metro's 21-km Pink Line, connecting Kalena Agrahara and Nagawara.
- •The prototype train, part of a Rs 3,177-crore contract, will undergo five months of testing before deployment.
- •BEML will supply 318 standard-gauge metro cars for the Blue and Pink Lines, designed and manufactured in Bengaluru.
- •The driverless-capable train features a 2,008 passenger capacity, 90 kmph top speed, USB charging, and advanced safety standards.
- •Sections of the Pink Line are expected to open by June 2026 (elevated) and December 2026 (underground), with full operation from 5 am to midnight.
