ECI Deletes Over 91 Lakh Voters in Kerala, MP, Chhattisgarh for Roll Accuracy
- •The Election Commission of India (ECI) released draft electoral rolls for Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh after a Special Intensive Revision (SIR).
- •Over 91 lakh voter names were deleted across the three states: 22 lakh+ in Kerala, 42 lakh+ in Madhya Pradesh, and 27 lakh+ in Chhattisgarh.
- •Deletions were due to deceased voters, shifted residences/unavailability, and multiple enrollments.
- •Previously, over 1.55 crore names were deleted in West Bengal and Tamil Nadu through similar revisions.
- •Eligible voters whose names were removed can seek re-inclusion during the claims and objections period from December 23, 2025, to January 22, 2026.
Why It Matters: ECI's Special Intensive Revision removed over 91 lakh voter names in 3 states to ensure electoral roll accuracy.
