Karnataka Cabinet Slams Centre Over MGNREGA Replacement, Approves Key Projects
- •Karnataka Cabinet denounced the Central government for replacing MGNREGA with the VB-G RAM G Act, terming it a betrayal of federal spirit and right to work.
- •Approved the Vishwaguru Basavanna Biodiversity Park in Bengaluru North, a 153-acre project estimated at Rs 250 crore, with Rs 50 crore sanctioned initially.
- •Sanctioned a 1,000-bed super speciality hospital for organ transplants and cancer, a Rs 1,000 crore project in partnership with Azim Premji Foundation, offering 70% free beds.
- •Approved revised cost of Rs 16,876 crore for Bangalore Suburban Transport Project (BSTP) Corridors two and four, and Rs 36.90 crore for upgrading six district education institutes.
