Dhanbad's ₹310 Cr Water Project to End Scarcity for 7 Lakh

• A ₹310 crore Jharia Water Supply Scheme is underway in Dhanbad to end water scarcity for approximately 7 lakh people in Jharia, Putki, and Kendua.
• The project is 60% complete, with significant progress on the intake well (90%) and Water Treatment Plant (95%), and new pipelines and reservoirs being constructed.
• The scheme, funded by JAMADA and DMFT, aims to provide 55,000 household water connections.
• Delays are occurring due to pending No-Objection Certificates (NOCs) from RCD and NH, though Railway NOC has been secured.
• Partial water supply is expected to begin by March 2026, with full coverage for the Putki Dhanbad region by December 2026.
