24/7 Live Monitoring, WhatsApp Group for Railway Security After Katwa Incident

• Following the Katwa incident, Indian Railways has implemented 24-hour live monitoring of CCTV feeds from terminal and junction stations.
• A separate WhatsApp group has been formed to send hourly updates, including pictures and videos, to top officials at Divisional Headquarters.
• Railway Protection Force (RPF) presence is being increased at selected stations and car sheds during the night.
• Motormen and guards are instructed to responsibly lock their cabin-cabs and report any suspicious persons to the RPF.
• Future plans include modernizing the face recognition system to identify criminals from law enforcement agencies with a red code on screen.
