5.5 Magnitude Earthquake Jolts Kolkata, South Bengal; Epicenter Near Khulna, Bangladesh

•A 5.5 magnitude earthquake struck Kolkata and several districts in South Bengal on Friday.
•The epicenter was near Khulna, Bangladesh, approximately 90 km from Kolkata, and 26 km southeast of Taki, West Bengal.
•The earthquake occurred at 1:22 PM IST, at a depth of 9.8 kilometers, and lasted for about 52 seconds.
•Residents in Kolkata reported houses shaking, and people evacuated multi-story buildings.
•This follows a 4.2 magnitude earthquake in North Bengal on Thursday and another in Sikkim earlier in February.
