Malda Gets New Road Over Bridge: Railway Minister Approves Rs 177 Crore Project

• Railway Minister approves new Road Over Bridge (ROB) in Malda, replacing Level Crossing Gate No. 101 between Malahar Halt and Samsi stations.
• Project to be completed with 100% railway funding at an estimated cost of Rs 177 crore, enhancing infrastructure and connectivity.
• The existing level crossing has a high vehicular traffic count (TVU 4,21,001 as of July 2024), necessitating grade separation for safety.
• Includes construction of an ROB for local movement and an additional ROB at a diversion location for urban and general traffic.
• Will significantly improve road and rail safety, benefit students, commuters, and businesses, and boost economic growth in West Bengal.
