Rail Ministry Approves Major Infra Projects to Boost Capacity, Safety

• Comprehensive rail infrastructure projects approved to eliminate congestion, enhance line capacity, and improve safety.
• Projects span Southern, Northern, and South Eastern Railways, including line doubling, third/fourth lines, and bypass corridors.
• Barbenda–Damrughutu doubling and Damrughutu–Bokaro Steel City 3rd & 4th Lines in Jharkhand are key capacity expansion projects.
• Electronic interlocking (EI) approved for 34 stations in Northern Railway (Delhi and Ambala Divisions) to enhance safety and efficiency.
• Rajpura bypass line (13.46 km) and Palakkad Town-Parli Bypass Line (1.80 km) to improve capacity, reduce detentions, and eliminate engine reversals.
