West Bengal Rail Revolution: Budget Triples, ₹93,000 Cr Projects Underway
•West Bengal's railway budget surged to ₹14,205 crore, a threefold increase, with ₹93,000 crore worth of projects currently transforming connectivity and infrastructure.
•Under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, 101 stations are being redeveloped for ₹3,600 crore; 9 stations, including Anara and Haldia, are already completed with modern amenities.
•The state's rail network is now 100% electrified (1,712 km since 2014), complemented by over 500 flyovers/underpasses and expanding Kavach safety system.
•Modern train services, including 1 Vande Bharat Sleeper, 18 Vande Bharat, and 22 Amrit Bharat Express trains, are enhancing passenger travel experience.
•PM Narendra Modi will inaugurate redeveloped stations, new lines (Belda-Dantan), signalling projects, and a new Purulia-Anand Vihar Terminal express train.
