Baramati Rape Case: Brother-in-law gets 10 years for assaulting sister-in-law
•A 43-year-old man in Baramati, Pune, sentenced to 10 years rigorous imprisonment and a 20,000 rupee fine for raping his sister-in-law.
•The incident occurred on June 14, 2024, in Pragatinagar when the victim was alone at home.
•The accused, the victim's cousin's husband, assaulted her in the kitchen and threatened her life if she reported it.
•Despite threats, the victim informed her husband, and they filed a complaint at Baramati City Police Station.
•Additional Sessions Judge B. D. Shelke convicted the accused based on victim's testimony, husband's statement, and medical report, also ordering victim rehabilitation aid.
