60-Year-Old Widow Jailed for Aiding Husband's Disproportionate Assets

A special CBI court in Ahmedabad sentenced Jasoda Vadaliya, 60, to two years rigorous imprisonment.
•
She was found guilty of helping her late husband, a former Income Tax officer, accumulate disproportionate assets.
•
Her husband passed away during the trial, leaving her to serve the sentence alone.
•
The couple was accused of accumulating assets worth Rs 29.4 lakh, 247% more than their known income, between 2002 and 2007.
•
Jasoda Vadaliya was also fined Rs 20,000 under the Prevention of Corruption Act and IPC Section 108.
