•He criticized some individuals for filing PILs based on morning newspaper readings, calling it an 'agenda'.
•The Supreme Court had previously condemned 'Publicity Interest Litigations' or 'Personal Interest Litigations' in a 2022 judgment.
•CJI Suryakant emphasized the need to reduce pending cases and ensure genuine issues are addressed.
•He recently warned a lawyer, Mathews Nedumpara, for making inappropriate remarks in court regarding the collegium system and Adani cases.
