Doctor Impersonator Scams Woman of 1.3 Lakh on Matrimony Site in Bhubaneswar

• A man posing as a doctor from Pune defrauded a female medical officer of 1.3 lakh rupees on a Brahmin matrimony website.
• The accused, Saroj Mishra alias Bhavani Siddharth Shankar, gained the victim's trust over several months, promising marriage.
• He requested 1.5 lakh rupees for a friend's mother's funeral, and the victim transferred 1.3 lakh via PhonePe in three installments.
• After receiving the money, the accused stopped answering calls, abused, and threatened the victim when she asked for repayment.
• Police arrested the accused, recovered 6,700 rupees, and are investigating his involvement in similar past frauds and potential accomplices.
