DRDO's VSHORADS Missile Aces Three Back-to-Back Tests, Boosts India's Air Defense

• DRDO successfully conducted three consecutive tests of its VSHORADS (Very Short Range Air Defence System) missile from Chandipur, Odisha.
• The missile demonstrated pinpoint accuracy, intercepting and destroying high-speed aerial targets simulating enemy fighter jets.
• VSHORADS is a Man-Portable Air-Defence System (MANPADS), making it lightweight, portable, and easy to deploy in challenging terrains.
• Developed indigenously by RCI and other DRDO labs, it will meet the requirements of the Army, Navy, and Air Force.
• Defence Minister Rajnath Singh congratulated DRDO, highlighting its role in enhancing border security against low-altitude threats like drones.
