LeT's Alarming Recruitment Drive: Illegal Migrants in South India Targeted for Terror Attacks
•Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) is actively recruiting illegal migrants, especially Bangladeshis, in South India for major terror attacks in North India, the Northeast, and West Bengal.
•Delhi Police Special Cell and IB investigation revealed LeT's strategy, targeting Bengali camps in Kerala and Tamil Nadu, with six Bangladeshi nationals already arrested in a temple attack plot.
•LeT uses brokers to provide illegal migrants with fake Aadhaar and Voter IDs, now leveraging this network for recruitment with threats or financial lures.
•Shabbir Ahmed Lone (Ganderbal), a previously arrested LeT operative, is currently in Bangladesh overseeing operations and has conducted dry runs in Delhi and Kolkata.
•IB warns LeT may target upcoming West Bengal and Assam elections; security agencies are working with Bangladesh to apprehend Lone, urging increased surveillance on South India's migrant camps.
