PM Modi's Historic Landing: Northeast Gets First Emergency Landing Facility in Assam
- •Prime Minister Narendra Modi's aircraft made a historic landing at Northeast India's first Emergency Landing Facility (ELF) in Assam.
- •The 4.2-kilometer ELF, built at a cost of 100 crore rupees, is designed for Indian Air Force fighter jets and transport aircraft during emergencies.
- •PM Modi traveled to the ELF aboard an Indian Air Force C-130 J aircraft after arriving at Chabua Air Force Station.
- •The dual-use infrastructure can handle fighter jets up to 40 tons and transport aircraft with a maximum take-off weight of 74 tons.
- •After the landing, PM Modi witnessed a 20-minute air show demonstrating the facility's operational capabilities and will later inaugurate the Kumar Bhaskar Varma Bridge in Guwahati.
