Dholpur's Pappi Saxena Empowers 50 Women with Home-Based Pad and Sewing Business

  • Pappi Saxena, Sharda Devi, and Mandha Devi from Dholpur became symbols of rural women's empowerment by addressing the lack of affordable sanitary pads.
  • They started by making safe and affordable pads after noticing elderly and poor women faced health issues due to expensive market options.
  • With support from Rajivika, they received technical training and overcame initial challenges to establish a thriving home-based industry.
  • Their 'Aloe Vera chip' sanitary pads, made from pure cotton, offer enhanced hygiene and safety, remaining effective for about 12 hours.
  • The center has expanded to include slipper manufacturing, leaf plate production, and a sewing unit, providing dignified employment to approximately 50 women.
