Rajasthan Launches 'Village Gwala Scheme': One Gwala for 70 Cows, ₹10,000 Salary

Rajasthan introduces 'Village Gwala Scheme' to revive traditional cattle grazing and promote cow protection.
•
Education Minister Madan Dilawar launched the scheme in Khedli village, Kota district, appointing Gwalas in 14 villages.
•
Gwalas will take village cows to grazing land in the morning and return them in the evening, reducing stray animals.
•
One Gwala will be appointed for every 70 cows, receiving a monthly honorarium of ₹10,000.
•
The scheme will be funded by philanthropists and local donors, not government budget, fostering community participation.
