Azamgarh Gets 15 KM Four-Lane Ring Road: ₹1279 Crore Project Approved

  • The central government has approved a 15.7 km long four-lane bypass ring road for Azamgarh to alleviate severe traffic congestion.
  • The project has received financial approval of ₹1279.13 crore, aiming to accelerate the district's development.
  • The new ring road will connect to the Purvanchal Expressway at Bamhaur village, starting from Semraha underpass in Rani ki Sarai.
  • It will also link to Varanasi-Lumbini NH-28 and NH-128B, including a flyover, two interchanges, and service roads.
  • The road will pass through 23 villages, requiring the acquisition of 94.59 hectares of land; survey work is complete, and land acquisition is ongoing.
