Gonda's 250-Year-Old Jama Masjid: A Replica of Delhi's Iconic Structure

Gonda's historic Jama Masjid, located in Rupaidiha block, is approximately 250-300 years old and mirrors Delhi's famous Jama Masjid.

Built by Sheikh Lallak Dada during the Mughal era, it features high walls, a large courtyard, and arched doorways made of red stones.
•
The mosque's construction reportedly used limestone and other materials, with no bricks, showcasing the period's art and craftsmanship.
•
Sheikh Lallak Dada, a landlord, also constructed 54 wells and planted 54 gardens alongside the mosque.
•
Considered the oldest and largest mosque in Gonda district, it attracts a large number of Muslim devotees for prayers, especially on Fridays.
