Kanpur Metro Makes History: First Train Reaches Naubasta, 10 Lakh Residents to Benefit

• Kanpur Metro achieved a significant milestone with the first test run completing the entire journey from Kanpur Central to Naubasta on the 'up-line'.
• The test run marks the final phase of preparations for metro operations on the remaining section of Corridor-1, with continuous testing planned.
• The extension includes seven new stations: two underground (Jhakarkati, Transport Nagar) and five elevated (Baradevi, Kidwai Nagar, Basant Vihar, Baudh Nagar, Naubasta).
• UPMRC MD Sushil Kumar congratulated employees and residents, highlighting the challenges overcome and the rapid progress on multimodal integration at Kanpur Central and Jhakarkati.
• Currently, 16 kilometers of the 24-kilometer Corridor-1 are operational, with construction also underway on Corridor-2 (CSA to Barra-8).
