• Meerut City Railway Station, a 110-year-old British-era structure, will be redeveloped into a world-class, multi-storey station at a cost of 473 crore rupees.
• The modernized station will feature a shopping complex, luxury hotels, smart parking, free Wi-Fi, and high-resolution CCTV cameras, offering an airport-like experience.
• Included in the Amrit Bharat Railway Scheme, the station's virtual foundation stone was laid in February 2024, with construction now formally underway.
