VLTD Mandatory for Commercial Vehicles from April 1: No Permit, Fitness Without Tracking Device
•
Ghaziabad Transport Department mandates Vehicle Location Tracking Device (VLTD) for all commercial vehicles from April 1.
•
Over 40,000 commercial vehicles, including buses, taxis, and school vans, will be affected.
•
VLTD includes a panic button for passenger safety, especially women and children, alerting the command center in emergencies.
•
Vehicles without active VLTD will face blocked services: no fitness certificate, permit, NOC, name transfer, or tax payment.
•
Cost for AIS-140 certified VLTD and panic button ranges from Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000, including installation and software rental.
