Bardhaman Municipality to build pet cemetery, a first for the city

• Bardhaman Municipality announces a dedicated cemetery for pets and stray animals in its 2026-2027 budget.

• Municipal Chairman Paresh Sarkar confirmed a site would be identified among the city's 35 wards for construction.
• The budget, totaling 296 crore rupees, also includes funds for roads, drains, lighting, and other development projects.
• The municipality will also impose taxes on identified business centers and nursing homes that have been defaulting on payments.
