ISF Announces First Candidate List, Sparks Alliance Tensions with Left Front

ISF declared candidates for several seats including Nandigram, Panskura West, and Murarai, without full seat-sharing agreement with the Left.
•
ISF nominated Mohammad Sabe Miraj Khan for Nandigram, despite CPI(M) allocating the seat to CPI's Shanti Giri.
•
Afzal Ali Shah, brother of slain Kurban Shah, is ISF's candidate for Panskura West, challenging CPI(M)'s Niranjan Sihi.
•
ISF also fielded Arabul Islam (Canning East) and Mafidul Haque Shahji (Deganga), and 7 candidates in North 24 Parganas.
•
Out of 23 announced candidates, seven are Hindu faces, including Tapas Bandyopadhyay (Ashoknagar) and Priyanka Barman (Madhyamgram).
