Jalpaiguri's traditional Baruni Mela and a Varanasi-style Ganga Aarti are set to begin, promising seven days of festivities.

The Ganga Aarti, organized by Dangapara Maa Smashan Kali Puja Committee, starts March 18 at 6 PM, continuing daily until March 24.
•
Varanasi priests will perform the Aarti at Mohitnagar Dangapara, marking its third consecutive year.
•
The Baruni Snan (holy dip) and Mela start tomorrow (Tuesday) at Mohitnagar Gourihat, on the Karala River's northward bank.
•
Devotees believe a dip in the northward current brings blessings; Mahabaruni Snan auspicious time is tomorrow from sunrise to 8 AM.
