•Around 1890, Tarachand Bandyopadhyay established his zamindari in Manaholi, transforming a dacoit-infested jungle into a thriving estate.
•He initiated Durga Puja in the landlord's house and brought dacoits into mainstream society, a puja now celebrated publicly.
•Despite the zamindari system's demise, the dilapidated palace remains a significant tourist attraction and a draw for history enthusiasts.
