Station Scam: Police Uncover Cinematic Robbery Scheme Targeting Out-of-State Passengers

• Fraudsters targeted out-of-state passengers at Howrah, Santragachi, and Shalimar stations.
• Gang members would befriend passengers, then trick them into handing over valuables under false pretenses of safety.
• They claimed an office in Howrah was a TT office where valuables could be kept safe, then absconded with items.
• Howrah Police received complaints since 2025, leading to an investigation and arrests.
• Two more gang members, Nikhilesh Kumar and Sonu Kumar Mahato, recently arrested by Howrah Police.
