Spring Sugarcane Planting: Expert Tips for Best Germination & High Yield

• Select 10-12 month old, healthy sugarcane; use the upper one-third portion for better germination.
• Treat seeds with a solution of 200g Carbendazim in 100L water for 10-15 minutes before planting to prevent diseases.
• Prepare field with adequate moisture, organic manure; plant 2-3 bud pieces 5-7 cm deep using trench or furrow method.
• Apply Fipronil or Chlorpyrifos for pest control; provide full phosphorus & potash, and one-third nitrogen as basal dose.
• Cover with light soil, perform light hoeing after 15-20 days for air circulation; maintain special vigilance for the first 40 days.
