Andhra Pradesh: 20 Lakh SC/ST Consumers Get 200 Units Free Electricity

•Andhra Pradesh coalition government announces 200 units of free electricity for approximately 20 lakh SC and ST consumers.
•Rs. 13,000 crore allocated for electricity subsidies in the budget for public welfare.
•Handloom workers to receive 200 units and power loom workers 500 units of free electricity from April 1st.
•PM Suryaghar scheme implemented for SC/ST communities with 100% subsidy; aqua farmers get power at Rs. 1.50.
•Government claims to have saved Rs. 340 crore by reducing per-unit electricity purchase price and reduced charges by 13 paise.
