Bihar's Arpit Kumar Wins Award for Innovative Arsenic Removal Technology

•Young scientist Arpit Kumar from Bihar developed METAL, an easy technique to remove arsenic from water.
•Received the 'Innovation in Water Technology Award 2026' at the Second Water Transversality Global Awards and Conclave in New Delhi.
•The award was presented by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla; Arpit's co-founder Akshat Adarsh accepted it.
•His product, MARU (Magnetic Arsenic Removal Unit), uses permanent magnets to separate toxic elements, providing low-cost safe drinking water.
•Arpit, a student at Manipal Institute of Applied Physics, co-founded Navmarg, aiming to provide affordable water purification in rural areas.
