8th Pay Commission recommendations for central government employees are nearing finalization, effective January 1, 2026.
•
Employees could receive interim arrears of approximately 20 months, ranging from Rs. 3.6 lakhs to Rs. 15 lakhs.
•
Higher basic salaries (above Rs. 50,000) will see significant gains; Rs. 47,600 earners could get up to Rs. 15 lakhs.
•
Proposed fitment factor of 3 to 3.25 could raise minimum basic salary from Rs. 18,000 to Rs. 54,000.
•
DA hike of 2% to 60% expected for central government employees and pensioners, effective January 1, 2026.
