*99#: Make UPI Payments Offline, No Internet Needed

• UPI payments can be made without internet or good signal using the *99# USSD service, especially useful in areas with poor network connectivity.
• To activate, dial *99#, select a language, then verify your bank account and debit card details (last 6 digits and expiry date).
• To make a payment, dial *99#, select "Send Money," enter receiver details (UPI ID, mobile number, or bank account + IFSC), the amount, and your UPI PIN.
• This service has a transaction limit of Rs. 5,000 per payment and incurs a charge of Rs. 0.50 per transaction.
• Introduced by NPCI, it works through a text-based menu, is available in 13 languages, and requires a bank account registered mobile number.

Why It Matters: It enables UPI payments without internet, crucial for poor network areas.
