9-Year-Old Mehedi Hasan Finds 1.45 Lakh Rupees, Returns to Owner via Police

• Mehedi Hasan, a 9-year-old from Dhulian Hijaltala, Murshidabad, found a bag containing 1 lakh 45 thousand rupees.
• Instead of keeping it, the third-grade student immediately took the bag to Samserganj Police Station.
• IC Subrata Ghosh of Samserganj Police Station used a bank passbook found in the bag to identify the owner, Zakir Hossain.
• Zakir Hossain, from Brahman village, Farakka, had lost the money after withdrawing it from Bandhan Bank for bidi workers' wages.
• The money was returned to Zakir Hossain, and Mehedi Hasan was honored by the police and praised by locals for his exceptional honesty.
