West Bengal Budget 2026: ASHA Workers, Civic Volunteers Get Pay Hike

• West Bengal's interim budget 2026 announced a significant remuneration increase for ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers, civic volunteers, and para teachers.
• ASHA workers will receive an additional 1000 rupees, raising their salary to 6250 rupees, effective April 2026.
• Anganwadi workers, civic volunteers, para teachers, and Shikshabandhus also saw a 1000 rupee increase in their remuneration.
• ASHA and Anganwadi workers will now receive 180 days of maternity leave and 5 lakh rupees compensation for on-duty death.
• The budget also includes a 1500 rupee scheme for unemployed youth and a 4% DA hike for government employees.
