Alandi Temple's 456-Year-Old Door Rebuilt: 30 Artisans Craft New Teak Entrance
- •Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Samadhi Temple in Alandi is replacing its 456-year-old west-facing 'Pan Darwaja'.
- •The initiative is led by Vishwakarma Panchal Sutar Samaj and social organizations, with temple committee permission.
- •Approximately 30 skilled artisans, guided by Pralhad Aglave, are crafting the new 12-foot high, 8-foot wide door from pure teak wood.
- •The project is estimated to cost six to seven lakh rupees, using 700 kg of teak wood from Maharashtra Forest Development Corporation.
- •The Pan Darwaja, built in 1570, is historically significant as the entry point for Mauli's darshan and where Nivrutthinath, Sopandev, and Muktabai bid farewell to Mauli.
