Nitin Gadkari unveils Rs 50,000 Cr 'Mega Plan' for Pune's traffic, pollution-free future

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari announced development works worth Rs 50,000 crore to permanently solve Pune's traffic congestion and pollution.
•
Six major projects include the Pune-Shirur Corridor and a new Mumbai-Bengaluru Highway, aiming for a pollution-free, traffic-jam-free Pune.
•
Palkhi Marg works (Dehu-Pandharpur, Alandi-Pandharpur) are nearing completion and will be inaugurated by PM Narendra Modi next month.
•
Five key projects to boost traffic speed: Pune-Shirur Corridor (Rs 7515 Cr), Talegaon-Chakan-Shikrapur (Rs 4000 Cr), Pune-Solapur (Rs 5000 Cr), Nashik Phata to Khed (Rs 7808 Cr), and Pune-Satara Road (new DPR Rs 6000 Cr).
•
A new Mumbai-Bengaluru highway will be built from JNPT via Pune; Gadkari appealed to the state government for raw material royalty waiver.
