Karnataka Farmer Pays Rs 10 for Rs 9.34 Loan Dues, Demands 66 Paise Back
•Chokkanna Gowda, a farmer in Hassan, Karnataka, received a message from Canara Bank about an outstanding loan balance of Rs 9.34 after clearing a Rs 50,000 loan.
•He paid Rs 10 at the bank, specifying Rs 9.34 as the due amount on the slip, and then demanded the remaining 66 paise back.
•Gowda argued that if banks expect customers to clear every paisa, customers also have the right to their exact balance.
•He claimed unfair treatment despite being a loyal customer for 15-20 years and stated he would take legal action if necessary.
•Gowda highlighted the disparity in treatment between small customers and wealthy defaulters who owe crores.
