•OpenAI representatives summoned to Ottawa after company considered but didn't alert Canadian police about a user linked to a school shooting.
•AI Minister Evan Solomon expects OpenAI's top safety representatives to explain protocols for forwarding cases to law enforcement.
•OpenAI identified Jesse Van Rootselaar's account for "furtherance of violent activities" in June but deemed it didn't meet referral threshold.
•The 18-year-old killed eight people in British Columbia this month, including family and five students, after a history of mental health contacts.
•OpenAI contacted RCMP only after learning of the shooting, stating their threshold for referral is "imminent and credible risk".
