Russia's Lavrov to visit India for BRICS meet, bilateral talks in May

• Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will visit New Delhi on May 14–15 for a BRICS foreign ministers’ meeting.
• Lavrov will also hold separate bilateral talks with External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar and other Indian officials.
• The visit follows recent diplomatic exchanges, with Moscow expecting continued high-level engagement with India.
• Bilateral trade between India and Russia reached $60 billion in 2025, with a target of $100 billion by 2030.
• BRICS, founded in 2006, expanded in 2024 and 2025 to include new members and partner states.
