UAE Soldiers Killed in Crash; Intercepts Drones, Missiles Amid Iran Tensions

•Two UAE Armed Forces members died in a helicopter crash on Monday, March 9, 2026, due to a technical malfunction while on national duty.
•The UAE Ministry of Defence announced the incident on X, extending deepest condolences to the families of the martyrs.
•UAE air defenses destroyed 17 UAVs and 12 ballistic missiles on Monday, noting a sharp decline in Iranian drone attacks.
•Since Iranian attacks began, 253 ballistic missiles and 1,440 UAVs were detected, causing 4 deaths and 117 injuries among various nationals.
•These attacks are Iran's retaliatory strikes after the US-Israel operation killed Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on February 28.
