Airpay, MSCB Partner to Boost UPI Payments in Rural Maharashtra
•Airpay Payment Services and Maharashtra State Co-operative Bank (MSCB) collaborate to enable UPI-based digital payments across Maharashtra.
•The initiative aims to accelerate financial inclusion in rural areas, covering over 21,000 Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS), 31 District Central Co-operative Banks (DCCBs), and 55 MSCB branches.
•Farmers, traders, and small merchants will gain access to QR-based UPI payment acceptance at no additional cost.
•MSCB, India's largest state cooperative bank, handles an annual business volume of Rs 62,000 crore, with a significant shift expected towards digital transactions.
•The bank targets 11-15 crore digital transactions annually, projecting business volumes of Rs 1.2 lakh crore through digital channels, aligning with government and RBI's digitization push.
