CGST Gurugram busts massive fake GST racket; Rs 143 Cr ITC fraud, 1 arrested

• CGST Gurugram busted a large-scale fake GST registration racket operating from multiple premises in North Delhi.
• The racket used forged documents and misused KYC details sourced from the job portal “Job Hai” to create fake firms.
• Investigation revealed 24 fake firms under CGST Gurugram jurisdiction generated Rs 734.95 crore in fraudulent invoices.
• Fraudulent Input Tax Credit (ITC) of Rs 143.05 crore was availed, and Rs 174.72 crore ITC was passed on.
• One key individual was arrested under the CGST Act, 2017; Rs 45.30 lakh cash, mobile phones, laptops, and SIM cards seized.
